We did good last night, so I thought we should do it again! The gvg zaishen quest will be offered again on the 28th, so let's do it! For those that were not here last night, we ran Hexway, which was : -2 Frontliners -A MoI Elementalist (that was Jase) -A VoR Mesmer (that was me) -A LC nec (that was Cookie) -Basic WoH/RC backline (Nijn and Cactus friend were just AMAZING backlines :P) -A Mo/E flag runner. Of course this is still for fun so we can obviously change the team if we have to :). But as last night's team doesn't want to do Red Resign, me included, we'll try and get a balanced team. I'll increase the number of participants to 16 if needed :D !

Mon 25 Oct 2010, 12:41:

Signed up for monk but I can run anything that's needed :3

Mon 25 Oct 2010, 13:03:

I'll come - happy to play through the games! I'll probably call some impromptu stuff over the next couple of days to get used to builds etc.

Mon 25 Oct 2010, 13:03:

Hmm interesting I'm sure Jason created an event for this last night which 7 people signed up for. Confused where this has now disappeared to. The GvG zaishen combat will actually start at 5pm on the Wednesday 27th and run through to 4.59pm on Thursday 28th. As I know there is alot of interest in these events atm due to ToT and Zkey farming can I suggest increasing the number who can sign up to 16 people and if there is enough interest we can run 2 teams. I also suggest that the date gets moved to 27th instead of the 28th. Otherwise you won't be able to pick up the quest repeatedly on Thursday evening.

Mon 25 Oct 2010, 13:12:

I. Hate. Exams. I have 1 exam thursday morning. at 8.30 AM (!!!) So I could join you for like 1 match. I won't sign up though, but please contact me if I'm on. I'll roll anything.

Mon 25 Oct 2010, 13:29:

I changed the date, i obviously still have issues reading those zquests predictions :P. I also increased the number of participants to 16. I'll form one team (if my internet is working that is), and i'll get someone else to form the other one. I saw Jase's post, and i don't know where it poofed to, so i just made a new one :). Dave - if you have any question about that ele build, that's my second specialty, after Mesmering of course :P.

Mon 25 Oct 2010, 15:25:

Will only come if we play proper not resigning we had so much more fun playing and winning by fighting fairly, wedid uber well in all the games. Thank you and gz to all who played in the early of 2day xD

But yeah, it was a lot of fun, count me in if we ever make a persistant SNOW GvG team ^,^!

me and miles had a great time and would like to participate in this whenever possible. if you ever want to change your build up as well, try something new, let us know. like i said, we all did GREAT yesterday! a few losses but from high end players, and a handful of amazing wins. great job everyone :]

Mon 25 Oct 2010, 17:06:
i was A/W for most of the night :)
Nijn edited my post without my consent :( , I told him the roles changed a lot during the night, only the WoH/RC monks, Jase and I kept our spot the whole time ^^.
if you ever want to change your build up as well, try something new, let us know.
Depending on who suscribes, we may have to try something new indeed^^! I also had some people telling me that trying a spike build could be nice, but i don't really know how that works, so maybe you two could help us with that as well :)

Btw, I'm still running mesmer, even in spike teams, just so you know ^^. (Mind Wrack -> Esurge -> shatter delusions is always nice anyway) Edit: pvx wiki is going through some... changes and is not reliable anymore anyway ><. We'll make builds only from the knowledge in our heads!
going to sign miles up for this as well since his forum access is still limited ...
I've upgraded Miles' forum access so he can join / create events. If you could both update your profiles (link at top right corner) with each of your respective characters that would be appreciated :)

Nym's 4 man ranger spike: [RMe;OgUUEuLi5MKl+hNbswEIcrmTAA] [RP1;OgkmYFXHGlxm6pQtS4a5WUgCH1brGCAA] [RP2;OgkkchYVGbmUrEuWuFFowR43qhAA] [RP3;OgkkclYVGbiUrEuWuFFowhF2qhAA] Never had a chance to try it out in gvg but the builds work quite well in pve, RA and FA (I mix the builds a little to use on one ranger) You will need to add healing and casters etc. for the other 4 characters. My recommendations are a prot emo spamming blind, a mesmer, and 2 monks. The key is to try and only use needling shot when the opponent is down to 50% health - then you can spam it - just 1 person makes it near impossible to heal against so 3 ppl create a fast spike. The RMe is there to take away monk prot skills (only cast shatter if there are prot skills to remove) - and the degen is to help lower the health down to 50% for needling shot to be effective. Don't forget to use epidemic to spread conditions (including weakness) - making it easier to pick spike targets and keep their monks busy. Basically spread conditions every where and the other rangers just pick random targets to shoot at, anyone who looks like they are down to 75% health gets targeted and you all switch target and spike them fast. By the time you all three main rangers hit the target with keen arrow and prepared shot, it should take them down to 50% when needling shot can finish the job in about 1 second. Don't forget to add runes to the attribute values. Bow choice: RME - longbow with 33% extra poison or bleed length RP - need to take 3 bows and change in fight accordingly Bow 1: Hornbow with 20:20 armor penetrating string Bow 2: Shortbow with zealous string Bow 3: Shortbow with vampire string The hornbow is your main bow for spiking because it deals extra armor piercing damage Shortbow with zealous string is effective against Monks, warriors, and dervish - limited effectiveness against sins, mesmers, necros - useless against eles. The extra speed and needling shot will prevent low energy characters or characters using a lot of energy like monks from using skills. Shortbow with vampire string is effective against tankers - if your arrows are dealing zero damage against an ele, sin, or monk tank then switch to vamp string - the added speed and needling shot will reck havoc against them. I'd like to try that, Nym ^_^
